Our Service is intended for individuals and entities located in the United States of America.
Information Collection and Use
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, your name, phone number, email address, postal address, bank account and routing number, social security number, photo identification, and payment card number (“Personal Information”).
We collect this information for the purpose of providing the Service, identifying and communicating with you, responding to your requests/inquiries, servicing your transactions, improving our services, and complying with federal law requiring us to help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities.
Your personally identifiable information is not sold to any third party. Personally identifiable information is shared with three service providers. In order to transact funds, your personally identifiable information is shared with our banking technology partner, Avidia Bank, based in Hudson, MA, to the extent necessary to transact funds, comply with bank anti-fraud and anti-money laundering policies, and comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations. In order to report renter payments for credit purposes, personally identifiable information renters provide and which we may collect about the tenancy is shared with TransUnion, based in Chicago, IL to the extent necessary to accurately report tenancy history and correct errors. In order to verify the identity of our users, personally identifiable information is shared with Plaid, based in San Francisco. Personally identifiable information is not shared with any other service providers. Your participation in our identity verification process is your consent to the Plaid privacy policy.
If you submit any Personal Information relating to other people to us or to our service providers in connection with the Services, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
Mandatory Communications
RentHelper reserves the right to communicate with you from time to time about important administrative, policy, legal, and billing matters, which will affect your use of our Service, including without limitation any notices concerning rental payments, and/or alleged violations of our Terms. These communications are mandatory.
Log Data
We may also collect information that your browser sends whenever you visit our Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics.

Information collected through Reviews and Testimonials:
You may choose to submit a review or testimonial. If you post a review, RentHelper may, but is not required to, ask for certain information to validate your review or testimonial such as a photo, your name, business affiliation, email address and your city/state/country of residence. If you submit a review, RentHelper may publish your photo, name, affiliation, and/or geographic location, but your email address will be kept private. Additionally, any personally identifiable information that you submit as part of the review or testimonial can be read or used by other visitors to the website. RentHelper is not responsible for any personally identifiable information that you choose to submit as part of your review or testimonial.
Service Providers
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services and/or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

RentHelper is required by the terms of its agreement with its Originating Depository Financial Institution for ACH payments (Avidia Bank headquartered in Hudson, Massachusetts) to submit owner information to Avidia Bank for checking against the United States Department of the Treasury Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List (SDN List).
Security
The security of your Personal Information is important to us, and we strive to implement and maintain reasonable, commercially acceptable security procedures and practices appropriate to the nature of the information we store, in order to protect it from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure.
